On this trip, we explore Lithuania, one of the 3 Baltic states. The only one we have not yet visited with Totally in Tango. You can join for a week or a weekend, you choose. Each leg of the program can be booked separately, or together.

It all starts in Vilnius, the vibrant capital. Together, we discover the rich history and culture of this fascinating city. We stay and dance in 4-stars Conti Hotel, convenietly located in the centrum of Vilnius, very close to the Old Town.

In the second part of the program, we explore the inner country. We visit Trakai, a former capital of Lithuania, and spend some days in Ignalina, the lake district, where we connect with nature.

The first leg: The dance weekend - exploration of Vilnius

Thursday 31/07:

For those already there, we join a local milonga for a pre-party. The details will be communicated later. If there is no local milonga, we will organize one. The entrance price is not included in the package price.

Friday 01/08:

A guided walk in the old historic city center in the morning. We aim to have one English-speaking guide and one German-speaking guide, the duration will be approximately 2 hours. The cost of the guided tour is 10 euros. We end the tour at a restaurant with typical Lithuanian dishes, those who want can have lunch there (not included in the package price).

Saturday 02/08:

A guided walk in the Užupis district of Vilnius. An artistic free state in constant evolution within the city proper. It starts at 11.00. Duration 2.5 hours. The cost of this excursion is 10 euros. The starting location is approximately a 20-minute walk from the Conti hotel.

19.00 - 21.00 shared evening meal at the hotel Conti for those who want. You can indicate your food choice during the registration process. The main dish and dessert cost 20 euros.

Sunday 03/08

The hotel Conti is our home for the first leg of this experience.

It’s modern and recently renovated. Situated near the old town, the location is perfect for exploring the city. We will transform the breakfast area into our dance hall. Its wooden floor and glass roof, make it a welcoming space to share dances, to meet with old and new friends.

The hotel has set a special price for our participants. You can book your rooms during the registration process.

The second leg: Water, trees, nature and culture.

Our home for the next 3 days will be Gaveikėnų vandens malūnas, a watermill guesthouse in the district of Ignalina, known as the lake district of Lithuania. Here we are surrounded by nature. There is an outside dancefloor next to the lake, an inside dancefloor, a sauna where we will experience a true Lithuanian bath ceremony, and plenty of interconnected lakes to navigate by kayak. There will be time for dancing, for walks, for rest, for adventure.

On the last day, we visit Trakai, the medieval capital of Lithuania where we will have a professional guide telling us more about the the history.

Monday 04/07:

In the morning we are picked up by our private bus and we drive to Gaveikėnų vandens malūnas.
Lunch at the venue.
In the afternoon, the first group has the Lithuanian bath experience, guided by Aurelia. We will have music playing on the outside dance floor, for practice time.
After dinner, we dance till late… 🙂

Tuesday 05/07

Breakfast at the venue, free time for exploring resting, or swimming.

Wednesday 06/07

Breakfast at the venue, free time for all.
After an early lunch, we go all out to kayak on the small rivers and lakes. We are brought and picked up by the people of the venue. We will have some people with us that have experience with such trips.
After dinner, we dance.

Thursday 07/08

We are picked up by our private bus and go and visit Trakai, the ‘old’ capital of Lithuania. We visit the medieval castle and share a meal of their very typical Karaims dishes.
In the late afternoon, we drive back to hotel Conti. For those who still have energy, we visit a local milonga.

Friday 08/08

Hugs and kisses goodbye after breakfast.

Pricing

The first leg, the dance weekend in Vilnius

Event price: 110 euros (includes welcome drink/snacks on Friday evening)
Guided tour on Friday and Saturday - 10 euros per person per tour
Saturday evening dinner at the hotel Conti - 20 euros. Choice between:

Single room, 85 euros per night per room, bed and breakfast, city tax included (15 rooms available)
Double/twin room, 97 euros per night per room, bed and breakfast, city tax included (30 rooms available)

For those traveling alone, and willing to share a room with another participant, we will try and match you.
