This will be a seminar format, no individual classes can be taken.

Our Teacher:    Yailet Suarez

Yailet2.jpg

Yailet is a professional dancer, based in Milan. She started dancing tango in 2008.

I met her in 2018 for the first time in Eindhoven. Only in 2024 did we meet again and once more, I was impressed with her energy, knowledge, and drive. She's a perfect teacher for TiT.

.Her research interests are highly focused on tango dynamics, and her classes are based on a strong work on rhythm and musicality.

In the intensive WS weekend, we will use a progressive approach. The focus will be on a technical-structural-musical work, aimed at the development of the dancers' own body awareness, their own musicality awareness and their role awareness.

Over the weekend, we will have an in-depth look at the differences between dancing on time and interpreting the music. This will be done on specific tango songs, from different Orchestras. The music we will work on will be communicated in advance to the workshop participants.

The   Venue

Once more, El Abrazo will be our home for the fifth edition of TiT in Hamburg.  It is a dedicated tango studio, with a wooden floor and a superb sound system.  Info on how to reach the venue here by public transport.

There are several hotels at less than a 5-minute walk from the venue.

On Thursday evening 05/03 we join the regular milonga at TANGOmatrix in Hamburg. The start is at 21.00. No reservation is needed, come and share the joy, and pay at the door. They play a mixture of classical tango and non-tango music with cortinas.

Before the milonga, we can share a meal at the Indian restaurant Maharani, which is close by.

   Hamburg,  for those who come
early... :-)

The extra program, not included in the price.

On Friday, 06/03, we propose to discover the majesty of St. Michael’s Organ in Hamburg

Join us for a guided visit to the magnificent organ of St. Michael’s Church — one of Hamburg’s most iconic landmarks. Known affectionately as “der Michel”, this baroque church has stood since the 17th century, rebuilt with pride after fire and war, and today it remains a symbol of the city.

Its organ is a true masterpiece: with thousands of pipes and a rich, powerful sound, it is among the most impressive in Germany. Our expert guide will take you behind the scenes, revealing its history, hidden details, and the magic of its music.

🕐 Duration: 1 hour, the tour starts at 10.30 am and will be in English. At 12.00 there will be a 20-minute concert on the Organ.
💶 Price: €15–20 per person (depending on group size)
🍴 After the visit, there is a possibility for a shared lunch at a nearby restaurant in the harbor.

👉 Reservation is mandatory and can be made during the registration process for the weekend.

A unique chance to experience Hamburg’s heritage up close — both visually and musically!
