An exploration into the wide spectrum of Tango dancing

Destination Tango-back-gray-small-trimm.jpg

The objective of the voyage:

Destination Tango started in September 2025, and since then we've had 5 totally different Tango weekends in Brugge.  Each one was fascinating and full of surprises, but always true to the initial idea to discover different ways of movement and connection to grow in your Tango dance.

Each leg enhances your dance and provides you with greater freedom to express yourself while dancing, regardless of your role.

Discover new approaches, explore deeper in already known paths! Jump with us into the Tango universe of the Captains! Let yourself be guided to new insights and experiences!!!

Each leg is a stand-alone exploration into one tango universe. We intend to invite the same captains in the future to continue exploring their universe.

Who are we looking for?

Tango enthusiasts who are ready to explore new paths to enrich and deepen their dance. All levels, all roles,  all styles of tango dancing are welcome. The richest connections in life happen when differences meet. Love and respect for tango unite us all.

Next Departure dates: 12-14 March 2027

The sixth leg - The Neo Edition. We learn and dance to non-tango music.

Captains on Duty: Isabella and Iwan Harlan (Germany)

Launch pad: Brugge (BE) – Barge 'Taranta'

The Taranta is a vessel that is berthed in one of the most picturesque places in Bruges. The boat is located at the "Brugse Vesten", a green belt around the historical centre of Bruges. It's a nice place to take a walk, at the foot of four beautiful mills and near the historic centre.

The vessel is 40 meters long and equipped with everything necessary for hosting classes and milongas: a dance floor, sound equipment, water, (dry) toilets, chairs and tables, a kitchen, and a heating system.

A contemporary dialect to speak, learn, and dance the language of tango

This weekend, we explore together how your presence in tango emerges from clarity. And how two people who truly listen can tell a story — powerful, yet with flow and ease.

Over 5 workshops, we show you…

  • Our system uses physical and mental techniques, enabling you to dance more freely and playfully — whether gentle or expressive. From within, outward.

  • How you can rediscover your tango — with your feelings, your body, your own voice, your own dialect.

Over the years, we have refined our dialect. That's why we can express ourselves authentically to any music.

We open a door for you.
You explore the path.

This is the Elonga Method. A contemporary dialect.

Practical:

  • Up to 20 Tangonauts can participate in this voyage. This way, we keep an intimate atmosphere with an easy focus on the road ahead.

  • In this edition, we dance to non-tango music also during the classes and practices.

  • The classes will be given in English.

  • We welcome all dancers: leaders, followers, and double role dancers. The pace of the class will be adapted to double role dancers. Changing partners will be encouraged in the classes, but is not mandatory.

We offer 2 formats: an all-in formula at 220 euros for one weekend, which includes all classes, all practices, all social dance moments, and the meals mentioned in the program.

The other formula is classes only. This includes all the classes and the guided practica. The price for this formula is 150 euros. Water, tea, and coffee are included.

Our hometown, Brugge, is a pearl waiting for you to be discovered. Every corner you turn opens up a new, amazing view. Come and be swept away by the rich history.

The barge is located at the edge of the historical city center. Brugge has lodging for all budgets.  Everything within the city walls is reachable on foot. You can rent a bicycle at the train station for  12 euros per day. Lodging outside of the city walls can be a bit cheaper.
