Our Vision:

We want to create a space for dancers who love exploring both roles.

From Tuesday to Friday, we’ll focus on learning and sharing. Two wonderful teacher couples will guide us, and the program is designed so that everyone can join every class they offer.

By Friday afternoon, the energy shifts — fewer classes, more time to simply dance, connect, and enjoy. You’re welcome to join either part of the journey, or both.

The Location:

Welcome to Starkow, a charming little village near Velgast, tucked away in the beautiful Mecklenburg-Vorpommern region of Germany.

Our home base will be the Backstein Scheune — a stunning venue surrounded by an old rectory garden complete with ponds, winding historic paths, and ancient trees.

Behind the building, a spacious 200 m² tent will host our shared meals and evening dances. We’ll bring our own dance floor and sound system to make sure everything feels just right.

The Backstein Scheune has a dedicated room for tango classes and some cozy accommodations for overnight stays. Just a 5-minute walk across the village, you’ll also find Anne Hille’s wonderful guesthouse, Art Quartier. She’s reserving it just for us. Anne, herself a double-role tango dancer, a renowned artist and a Natural Horsemanship trainer, offers a mix of apartments, yurts, tiny houses, and camping spots. You’ll be able to book your preferred option during registration. Some of the classes will take place at Art Quartier as well.

Practical Details

Here’s what’s on offer during the week:

  • Flexibility to choose your package: 3, 4, or 6 days

  • Weekdays: 2 tango classes, 1 guided práctica, 1 milonga, and 1 morning yoga session each day.

  • Weekend: 2 tango classes, 5 milongas, and 2 morning yoga sessions.

  • Different lodging options on site.

  • Free time during the day for new experiences. Anne has 13 horses, and her horsmanship approach is unique. The way to communicate with the horse is similar to how we communicate in our dance. You can book and pay for an introduction class directly with Anne.  More information here.

  • Our meals will be in good hands — lovingly prepared either by Tango Cuisine, by the Art Quartier team, or by the welcoming crew at the Backstein Scheune. Each brings their own flavor of care and hospitality to the table.

  • Sharing meals is at the heart of this gathering, and we’d love your help to keep everything flowing with ease. Whether it’s preparing, serving, or tidying up afterward, these small moments of teamwork become part of the joy — a chance to connect, laugh, and create community together. Closer to the event, everyone will be able to choose the task and moment that feels right for you.

  • Fancy coming by public transport, we will organize a pick-up service from Velgast train station to the venue.

✨ Come to learn, to dance, to connect. Whether you join for a few days or the whole week, the experience is yours to shape.

Our Teachers:

Marcela & Alberto – Tango through Body Awareness

Straight from Buenos Aires, the heart of tango, Marcela and Alberto invite you on a journey into the essence of tango through body awareness. With over 30 years of experience, they explore the embrace not only as a dance technique but as a living culture — weaving tradition with somatic research.

Their teaching isn’t about mesmerizing steps. It’s about uncovering movement, deepening presence, and creating authentic connection — both on and off the dance floor. With them, tango becomes a dialogue of sharing, creativity, and joy.

Their workshops are open to all levels, offering tools to enrich your dance while also changing the way you relate to yourself and others.

What you’ll take away:

  • Learn without stress or pressure

  • Progress at your own rhythm, guided with care

  • Develop body awareness and connection to others

  • Improve posture, balance, and grounding

  • Deepen musicality and sensitivity

  • Create authentic connections in the embrace

Yailet Suarez

Yailet is a professional dancer/teacher, based in Milan. She started dancing tango in 2008.

I met her in 2018 for the first time in Eindhoven. Only in 2024 did we meet again, and once more, I was impressed with her energy, knowledge, and drive. She's a perfect teacher for TiT.
