Our Vision
This weekend is designed for double-role dancers who enjoy the close embrace — with respect for their partner, the music, and the shared space of the ronda. With 'Mini' Encuentro, we mean to make clear that the dance space is small, and the number of participants will reflect this.

The Venue
Studio Touch is the creative home of Malin Backström — a welcoming space that hosts everything from dance and yoga to massage classes, cultural salons, and writing workshops.
For our very first Totally in Tango event in Stockholm, we couldn’t have found a better place. From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear this venue had the perfect atmosphere for something special. With a dedicated dance area separate from the social space, Studio Touch invites both intimacy on the dance floor and deeper connections off it.

The Weekend
✨ Mini encuentro for double role dancers
✨ 6 milongas, 22 hours of dancing
✨ 2 Morning tango classes with Malin — designed to heighten awareness and enrich the social dancing later in the day.
✨ Shared home-cooked lunches and dinners.
✨ We provide coffee, tea, and flavoured water. You are welcome to bring and share drinks and snacks of your choice.
✨ All within a flowing daily rhythm from 10:00 – 22:00.
✨ Malin, Patrycja and Julija are the DJs for the weekend and will play traditional tango music.

Malin
Totally in Tango and Malin share already a long history as a dancer participant to our events, as a dj, and as a teacher. She was our guest teacher at our Hamburg event in 2024.
Malin Backström (Stockholm) is a pioneer of queer and double-role dancing in Sweden. She began ballroom and Latin in 1998, competing internationally in same-sex dance and soon teaching her own classes. In 2010 she co-founded Queer Salsa Stockholm and helped launch queer lindy hop in Sweden.
Since 2013 Malin has focused on Argentine tango, running her own studio Studio Touch in Stockholm and, with Henny Stridsberg, the school Tango Queerer. She also organises annual tango retreats – for women at Kvinnohöjden and for double-role dancers in the Stockholm archipelago – while teaching widely across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
Renowned for her clear, inclusive teaching style, Malin makes complex ideas feel simple, highlighting connection and musicality. Her passion for the music also led her to DJ, with sets played across Scandinavia and Europe, including Turkey (2023) and Hamburg’s TiT festival (2024, 2025).

Practical Notes
To help everyone enjoy the best possible dance experience, and to manage the special layout of the venue, we kindly ask you to follow a few simple guidelines:

At the start of a tanda, please enter the room and find your place on the dance floor straight away. This avoids a waiting line forming at the entrance.

Once a tanda is underway, please step onto the dance floor only during the pause between songs — this helps maintain the smooth flow for those already dancing.

When joining the ronda, ensure that the couple behind you notices your entrance, so the circle moves harmoniously.
There are at least 4 hotels within walking distance to our dance venue. Metro and bus connection to the city center are nearby.

We all dance with each other.
Is your friend/partner (still) a single role dancer? You are both welcome.
Your participation fee is 180 euros
Accommodation is not included.
Your participation will only be
confirmed by us after reception
of your participation fee.
